laundry basket dresser

Over Memorial Day weekend, Guy's parents (who are two of the most amazing people in the world) came to town to help us build our own version of Ana White's ingenious creation, the Laundry Basket Dresser:

Laundry Basket Dresser
See her plan here.
So, the men pulled out their tool belts and beer...

Leaving his mother and I to sand!

Even Hazel decided to help out!

It was pretty late by the time the building process was done, so we just ordered a pizza and went to bed.
The next morning I woke up, slabbed a few coats of paint on each (just one pint covered them both)...

and... Voila!

Hazelnut loves her new hang-out (she can see into three rooms at once!) and we love the new ease of laundry.

I highly recommend this project! It has motivated me to do the laundry and keep up with it. It so easy to do, too, because as soon as a basket is full all I have to do is carry it downstairs to the washing machine.

To see more details about our project and modifications to the original design, follow this link- it is my brag post at Ana-White.com!

Clothespins were painted and then hot-glued to the baskets. Scrapbook paper and construction paper were used to make the signs.

Hope you enjoy and I hope you decide to make one for your own home (you won't regret it!).
